Intended use of Circuit Breaker Analyzer
The circuit breaker analyzer, DV Power CAT03, is designed to measure the main contact timing of LV and HV circuit breaker types with 1 interrupting chamber per phase. The obtained measurement are displayed in numerical form, and the graphical interpretation of the obtained results is available while using the intuitive DV-Win PC software.The list of instrument applications includes:
- Measuring the timing of the main contacts (1 break per phase) including pre-insertion resistors (if present).
- Measuring the resistance of the pre-insertion resistors (if present).
- Evaluating the synchronization between the circuit breaker chambers.
- External trigger is used to start the timing of the breaker when sensing a voltage that actuates the coils.
How to use Circuit Breaker Analyzer and Timer CAT03?
Both Low-voltage and High-voltage circuit breakers with 1 interrupting chamber per phase can be tested with the CAT03 circuit breaker anlyzer. In case the pre-insertion resistors are detected, the tester will measure the ON Time and display the results.The obtained timing measurements are saved in a test result that can be further analyzed by the DV-Win PC software. The DV-Win PC software also enables simplified report generation of the obtained parameters.
Connecting CAT03 to a Circuit Breaker
The CAT03 device is provided with test leads for measuring the timing of the main contacts and pre-insertion resistors, enabling the function to detect the state of the circuit breaker (Open / Close).The External Trigger cable set is connected accross the referenced coils, and the device, while using the external trigger set senses the voltage that actuates the coils to initiate the timing measurement.
