DV Power BVS-4 is intended for monitoring battery cells during a capacity test in order to comply with IEC, IEE and NERC requirements for battery capacity testing. This monitoring system consists of the following components:

  • BVS-4 Control Unit
  • Cell Voltage Modules (CVM-4)
  • String Voltage Module (SVM) – optional
  • String Current Module (SCM) – optional
It can also be used to monitor the charging procedure after a discharge. This system is not intended for 24/7 monitoring.
Cell Voltage Modules (CVM-4) are used to measure cell parameters such as voltage and cell temperature. Each CVM-4 module can measure the voltage of up to 4 cells. This reduces the amount of required modules and connections.
String parameters, such as total battery voltage and current are measured using the String Voltage module and String Current Module, respectively.
Measurement made by the CVM-4 modules are transferred to the Control Unit and to the DV-B Win Software. The BVS-4 Control Unit also provides power supply to all connected modules.
BVS-4 system can be used together with Battery Load Unit (BLU) series of devices during a battery capacity test to provide better insight into the state of health of individual cells.
The basic option that we offer includes a BVS-4 Control Unit and one CVM-4 module (with corresponding accessories) which enables the monitoring of four cells. If you require more than one module, kindly select the optional accessories and send us a Request for a quote, or contact us at [email protected].

Intended use for BVS-4

BVS system is intended for real time monitoring of battery and cell parameters like cell voltage, cell temperature, string voltage, string current and ambient temperature during a battery capacity (discharge) testing or during the charging process.

Battery Voltage Supervisor BVS-4 - Key Features

When employed in conjunction with Battery Load Units (BLUs), this system offers numerous benefits for battery capacity testing. The Cell Voltage Modules are responsible for gauging cell voltage values, which are subsequently stored at user-defined intervals within the Control Unit. In the event of measurements falling outside acceptable tolerances, LED indicators on individual modules illuminate to promptly signalize the presence of problematic cells. Moreover, within the DV-B Win software, cells that are deemed to be failing are highlighted in red. This functionality empowers the user to conveniently exclude the problematic cell when conducting a capacity test. The control unit comes with four temperature channels, allowing for measurements of ambient temperature in various locations. To measure battery string voltage and string current, you have the option to utilize additional modules. Incorporating these two optional modules enables seamless integration of the system with any load bank available in the market, facilitating fully automated capacity testing.Cell temperature (optional) is also possible. Each CVM-4 module can be equipped with a temperature channels, which means that the temperature of each fourth cell can be measured. The temperature sensor is mounted on the negative terminal of the cell using a lug.

DV-B Win Software

All results transferred from the BVS-4 system can be viewed, analyzed and presented in selectable report forms by using the DV-B Win software application. Data can be transferred to a PC through USB or Bluetooth communication. Both, the BVS-4 and the BLU device provided results can be viewed on the same report form. BVS-4 results can also be imported and combined with a BLU results at a later date using the DV-B Win software and the import BVS log functions.
