An excellent multimeter, the Sonel MPI-540-PV ensures outstanding accuracy while integrating the testing capabilities of many instruments. This multimeter is intended to be used for power quality analysis and commissioning of electrical installations, both residential and commercial. Compared to the MPI-540 meter, it has an additional feature for measuring solar installations in compliance with EN 62446.

Electrical installation testing and automated measurement

The MPI-540-PV allows for the safe testing of electrical infrastructure in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The MPI-540 is ideal for use in high-voltage applications since it has a test voltage range of up to 5 kV and a measurement range of insulation resistance of up to 100 G. The installation's safety status can be assessed based on test results. And even the measurement itself may be automated and made simple by using:

  • Auto mode of residual current devices (RCD) tests
  • Auto measurements – freely configurable measuring sequences
  • AutoISO-1000C adapter for automatic insulation resistance test of 3-, 4- and 5-conductor cables, without switching

A multipurpose meter, the MPI-540 is suitable for a variety of uses. It can verify continuity, measure light intensity, run a phase sequence test, test RCD settings, measure fault loop impedance without triggering, measure earth resistance using four different ways (including measuring soil resistivity), and even test the motor rotation direction.

Three-phase power quality analyzer

The MPI-540 / MPI-540-PV multimeter for three-phase power quality analysis analyzes power quality parameters in Live mode and logs them for further study. Results can be displayed graphically in real-time when using live mode. The user can select from a variety of parameters, including voltage and current waveforms (oscilloscope), voltage and current time plots, a phasor graph, the display of various parameters in tabular form, and a spectrum graph of current and voltage harmonics, to monitor and plot in accordance with S class of standard EN 61000-4-30.

Large touch screen

The MPI-540-PV is equipped with a big touch screen (7'') with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels to enable a clear view and reading of results. The display makes it easier to generate graphs and analyze data both during and after the testing process. Regardless of the weather, the interface is easily visible. Additionally, the accompanying stylus allows for the use of the device while wearing dielectric gloves.

Sonel's MPI-540-PV is portable and has a long endurance

The portable electricity meter is an essential tool for both experts and regular users and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The MPI-540-PV multimeter performs effectively in challenging environmental circumstances. Dust and water intrusion are guarded against by a specific IP51-rated housing. It resists mechanical damage, and because of its unique design, you can easily protect the touch screen by covering it with the meter's cover. In addition to shielding the actual device from harm, it also lets you carry and utilize the device in a variety of ways.
