Main function of a circuit breaker is to interrupt current flow after the fault is detected and to remove the faulty part of the system from the grid. The Circuit Breaker Analyzer & Timer CAT31 is a Circuit Breaker Timer. A perfect solution for circuit breaker condition assessment. It’s robust and lightweight design is perfect for field use. CAT31 has a 3 main contact inputs (3x1), 1 per phase, 2 coil control outputs as well as 3 auxiliary contact inputs. It is usually applied in electric power generation, distribution system, part of electric power transmission system, contractors testing and industrial environments. It provides an easy selection of different operational modes: Trip (O) Close (C) Reclose (O-0,3s-C) Tripfree (CO) O-0,3s-CO Trip-Close (O-C) Close-Trip (C-O) Trip-Close-Trip (O-C-O) Applications of the Circuit Breaker Analyzer & Timer CAT31 are: Timing measurement, Resistance measurement of the pre-insertion resistors (if present in the circuit breaker), Evaluation of synchronization (simultaneity) between the circuit breaker poles, A measurement of the coil currents, simultaneously for 2 coils, Evaluating the state of the substation’s batteries by graphically showing the voltage value. Tests performed by the Circuit Breaker Analyzer & Timer CAT31 device are in accordance with the circuit braker testing standards IEC 62271-100 and IEEE C37.09.Official DV-Win software is included in the purchase price of the DV Power’s CAT31. It is possible to control all of the CAT31 device functions by using the DV-Win software on a PC (or notebook). DV-Win also provides the option of creating test plans of different apparatus commonly used in most utilities and substations. All of the data is gathered and automatically stored in the database on the PC and can be used for generating test reports for acquisition and analysis of the test results as well as exporting the results in different formats.
