The CAT64 can be used as a standalone or a PC-controlled digital instrument for circuit breakers condition assessment. It is intended for timing measurement of circuit breakers with up to two breaking chambers per phase. A variety of operations (such as Open-Close, Open-Close-Open) can be initiated by using the coil control channel or by sensing the breaker’s contact position using the External trigger channel. The CAT64 device senses a voltage across the breaker's coil using the External Trigger. The Auxiliary input channel is used to monitor the 52a and 52b auxiliary contacts. The External trigger channel can be used as a third auxiliary input. The CAT64 can measure the displacement of the circuit breaker using the integrated transducer channel and measure up to two (2) analog signals (current and/ or voltage). If there are any pre-insertion resistors present in the circuit breaker, the device will automatically detect them and measure the resistance using the main contact input channels. The test results can be printed numerically and graphically using the Built-in 80 mm Thermal printer. The thermal printer is listed as part of the optional accessories of the CAT64 unit. Test results can be saved directly to a USB Flash Drive. The included DV-Win software enables detailed analysis of the test results and complete control of the CAT64 device using the PC.
