The CAT34 can be used as a standalone or a PC-controlled digital instrument for circuit breakers condition assessment. It is intended for timing measurement of circuit breakers with one breaking chamber per phase. A variety of operations (such as Open-Close, Open-Close-Open) can be initiated by using the coil control channel or by sensing the breaker’s contact position using the External trigger channel. The CAT34 device senses a voltage across the breaker's coil using the External Trigger. The Auxiliary input channel is used to monitor the 52a and 52b auxiliary contacts. The External trigger channel can be used as a third auxiliary input. The CAT34 can measure the displacement of the circuit breaker using the integrated transducer channel and measure up to two (2) analog signals (current and/ or voltage). If there are any pre-insertion resistors present in the circuit breaker, the device will automatically detect them and measure the resistance using the main contact input channels. The test results can be printed numerically and graphically using the Built-in 80 mm Thermal printer. The thermal printer is listed as part of the optional accessories of the CAT34 unit.
